The Hawai‘i Health Information Exchange is a non-profit organization established with the goal to improve health care delivery throughout the state by creating a plan for seamless, effective, and safe health information exchange. During our presentation, we will share with you updates on the Hawai‘i Pacific Regional Extension Center (HPREC) program and the tools used to assist physicians in registering and attesting to Meaningful Use. You will also learn about secure messaging, built in to Phase One of the state HIE program, as well as the interoperability connection between the HPREC, state HIE, and Meaningful Use.

The Hawai‘i Health Information Exchange (HIE) is the State Designated Entity (SDE) responsible for creating a statewide health information technology plan for Hawai‘i. The Hawai‘i HIE Plan was approved by Dr. Blumenthal on March 8th and includes the following documents:
